An art center with a print-making focus nestled behind the H.O. Smith Botanic Gardens at Penn State’s Arboretum could inspire working artists and provide a backdrop for engaging art exhibitions. The proposed building is a spiral with two projections: a wing with curvilinear walls to enclose exhibition spaces, and a wing with radial walls to open print-making studio space to the nearby woods.
